The Canada Music Week Festival  is held each November to celebrate and promote Canadian music in our community. The Festival is open to students of the Vancouver/Burnaby Branch and its STA members who are playing music composed or arranged by a Canadian composer.  All instruments and styles are welcome as solos or ensembles although only one piano is available at the venue.

The Canada Music Week Festival Committee gratefully acknowledges the support of our sponsors, Tom Lee Ltd for their donation of prizes and the Canadian Music Centre for the use of their facilities. It should also be noted that we are able to keep entry fees low thanks to generous subsidies provided by the Vancouver/Burnaby Branch. 

Parents register and pay entry fees for their children through individual accounts with the guidance of their teachers. It is therefore essential that teachers read the CMW Rules and Regulations. It is the responsibility of the teacher/participant to ensure all entry information is correct; if a piece is entered in the wrong level, the performance will be heard and adjudicated but no rank or scholarship will be awarded.

CLASS FEES (Please note: CMW Festival fees are subsidized by the BCRMTA Vancouver/Burnaby Branch)

  • $15 – Preparatory
  • $20 – Elementary (Levels 1-3)
  • $25 – Junior (Levels 4-6)
  • $30 – Intermediate (Levels 7-9)
  • $35 – Senior (Levels 10-12)

BRANCH SCHOLARSHIPS (1st/ 2nd place)

  • $25 / $15 – Elementary (Levels 1-3)
  • $50 / $25 – Junior (Levels 4-6)
  • $100 / $50 – Intermediate (Levels 7-9)
  • $150 / $100 – Senior (Levels 10-12)

TOM LEE LTD. GIFT CARD (1st/ 2nd place)

  • $25 / $20 – Level 1, 2, 3
  • $30 / $25 – Level 4, 5, 6
  • $35 / $30 – Level 7, 8, 9
  • $40 / $35 – Level 10, 11, 12
